CONSELF CGNS to OpenFOAM®: improving your OpenFOAM® experience

CONSELF is proud to announce its new OpenFOAM® mesh conversion tool: from CGNS to OpenFOAM® file formats.

As most of you already know, the free software OpenFOAM® provides a set of mesh conversion tools to allow communication with the most famous and used CFD softwares. What was missing, until now, is a conversion from CGNS (one of the CFD standards in meshing and results) to OpenFOAM®. This limitation is now overtaken by using the new tool provided by CONSELF available in the store: CONSELFCGNStoOpenFOAM.

How do you activate it?

After purchasing it in our store, download the appropriate package depending on your linux distribution, open it and install it.

During the first execution you are asked to ACCEPT the license terms and to send your public key to [email protected], in order to complete the activation. When you receive your private key, you can start using your new tool.

How does it work?

After installation and activation just open your terminal and type:

CONSELFCGNStoOpenFOAM file_to_convert.cgns

The executable automatically translates your CGNS file: all OpenFOAM® files are going to be stored in a new generated folder.

How can you visualize the output?

Before running any OpenFOAM® simulation you can use ParaView to view the mesh you have just converted. Just enter the folder and open the system.foam file you find with ParaView.

Where can you run it?

Currently this tool is available on most linux platform (debian and RPM packages). The license allows you to install into a single machine and run it anytime you need it.
