CONSELF Cloud Simulation v2.5 Released

CONSELF Cloud Simulation v2.5 Released

CONSELF Cloud Simulation v2.5 is online! With this new release a lot of new features have been added to the web application, improving our users experience and creating an integrated environment, equipped with a continuously growing sets of  functionalities.

A completely brand new section has been added to the platform: it is called “Tools” and (for now) comes with three different applications, each of them performing a specific task that are really useful in the design context, from modeling to simulation. Major improvements have also been added to the Simulation functionality, read more to discover all details.

New Tools Section

When you log in into CONSELF Platform (https://app.conself.com), on the left you will notice a new Tab called “Tools” has appeared. It is a brand new section added with the 2.5 release. It has been realized to be(come) a collection of useful instruments to make our users able to tackle a wide set of small problems that are often encountered when dealing with design, modeling and simulation. At the moment, three tools are available, and for their launch they are completely free and without any limitation, even for commercial use!

  • STEP / IGES File Healing: Fixes small edges, wire frames and faces, sews faces and makes solids
  • CGNS to OpenFOAM®: Converts a CGNS mesh to OpenFOAM® format
  • Points to STL: Generates a triangulated surface from a point cloud (Discover how it works with the video on the right)

Improved Geometry, Mesh and CFD Steps

Numerous improvements have also been made to the simulation functionality. From Geometry to CFD, every step has new features and upgrades. We care about our customers, this is why we put a great effort to improve our application every month. Your feedback is a fundamental resource for us, our goal is to provide you with the best design technology available, and meet your needs and desires. Here is a summary of 2.5 release major improvements:

  • Geometry | OBJ File Support: New input file format available
  • Mesh | Improved Robustness: Surface meshing working on more complex geometries
  • CFD | Runtime Residuals: Monitor simulation convergence during runtime
  • CFD | Better Accuracy: Automatic switch to second order (See residual plot in the image on the left)
